Skincare Favorites from Sephora Sale

Skincare Favorites from Sephora Sale

Sephora Spring Sale! My very formal Instagram Stories poll has determined that SKINCARE is the next post you, my beautiful friends, want to see! So here we go… my favorite skincare items currently available at Sephora.

***Disclaimer***
If you are struggling with your skin, I recommend you see a Licensed Esthetician. I know quite a few that I would be happy to connect you! In this post, I am sharing products that have worked for me (and sometimes for my makeup clients) but the information below is not intended to diagnose or treat any skin condition. Thank you!

My favorite movie line (or at least the one that I quote the most often), is from Steel Magnolias. Please tell me you have seen this movie, if not, stop reading this post and come back after you have watched that absolute gem. Dolly Parton plays Truvy, a Southern beautician,  (*excuse me*, “Glamour Technician” ) who owns a salon and who frequently dispenses wisdom to her friends and clients. At one point she says, “Time marches on, and eventually you realize, it’s marching across your face!” Oh friends, it is SO TRUE. In the last few years I have become particularly interested in products that promise to be anti-aging, so you will see a lot of serum-y type stuff.  Everything below I have purchased more than once and would re-purchase again. I will list the products in the order I use them (Cleanser-Toner-Serum-Oil-Moisturizer-SPF)

Cleansers

Tatcha The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser, $38 Great for oilier skins but doesn’t strip the skin.

Fresh Soy Daily Cleanser, $38 My favorite all-around cleanser, gentle but thorough. Suitable for all skins

Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant Exfoliator, $59 I need to exfoliate about every other day, particularly to fight maskne. This is a powder that you mix with water in your hands. THE KEY is to mix the product with water, apply to your face and LET IT SIT while you do something else. I do this in the shower and let it sit while I scrub my body.

Dermalogica Microfoliant WITH Refill, $90 I love this original powder exfoliant as well, and I never knew you could buy it with a refill pouch! Genius and truly GREEN.

JUST WASH YOUR FACE.

I SAID IT.

As Caroline Hirons says, “Face wipes are for fannies, festivals and flights.”

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Throw away your apricot scrub already!!!

Toners

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Peel Pads, $150 Completely worth the splurge, they really help my forehead lines and I am overdue for new ones

Eye Cream

Trish Tip– Don’t wait til the end of your skincare routine for your eye cream! Get in on that delicate area while your skin is still damp.

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream, $39 This actually reflects light and does have a brightening effect.

Tatcha The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream, $60 Absorbs quickly and works well under makeup.

Serums

AM

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid, $6.80 A great booster if you’re feeling dry. Helps your moisturizer work better. Can be used AM or PM

Sunday Riley CEO  $85 I actually noticed a difference after using this brightening serum for a few days. My face was looking really dull coming out of a long winter. I think it’s also better than the Tatcha Vitamin C serum, and costs slightly (like $4 less)

Serums are your treatment step. Layer on BEFORE your oils & moisturizers.

PM

Sunday Riley A+ High Dose Retinol Serum, $85 I use this every other night–I alternate with the Good Genes, below

The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2%, $9.80 An affordable retinol serum, I like to layer it over a squalane product, especially if you are new to retinol.

Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment, $85

Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream, $74

             2 of my ride-or-dies

Oils

Oils are not just for dry skin. Your skin may be acting oily because it needs lubrication, and you keep stripping it. My skin has behaved much better since I have introduced lubricating oils to my routine!

AM

Josie Maran Argan Oil, $49

PM

Sunday Riley Luna Oil, $105 Paired with the Sunday Riley Good Genes and A+ Serums, this makes a great anti-aging combo

Are you using a good oil in your skincare routine?

Moisturizers

AM

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream, $38 (You know I preach Sonia Roselli Water Balm from the ROOFTOPS! If you don’t have that and want to get Sephora points… you will like this one. Good for drier skins

PM

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer,  $52 Such a delicious treat to pat on your face at the end of your evening routine.

You’re like, really pretty.

SPF

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen, $34 Lightweight, SPF great for daily use. The final step of your routine.

Just for fun:

Eye treatment

Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches, $55 (I use these a lot on brides and anyone who has traveled on a plane before a wedding)

Mask (more below in the skincare sets)

Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery, $59 Feeling dull? Looking old? I am wearing this mask as I type right now! I use it when I need a boost! Best for dry, combo or normal skin.

Summer Fridays R+R Mask, $52 This mask smells like roses, (and has petals in it). Softens the skin and feels soothing. I don’t use a ton of at-home masks, but I enjoy this one!

Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, $45 This smells gloriously tropical and really does make your legs look great, even if only for a short time. So luxe!

Skincare Sets

Because I love you.

If you want to try some Sunday Riley OR Drunk Elephant favorites (or really, any higher end brand that you are afraid to drop serious coin on), remember gift sets are great! You get smaller sizes of the products and can try them before committing to a full size. I love doing this as a way to try new things, ESPECIALLY because stores aren’t allowed to make samples right now… #thanksCovid

Sunday Riley Go To Bed with Me, $93 I love this! It includes the favorites I listed above–Good Genes, Luna, A+as well as the Tidal Cream which is a lovely moisturizer. Plus you get a Ceramic Slip Cleanser and Pink Drink hydrating toner! This would also be perfect for travel.

Drunk Elephant The Littles, $90 All the Drunk Elephant Favorites including eye cream, AM and PM serums, hydration boosters and SPF

Drunk Elephant Haul Acid, $100 I am getting this set because I am the only person (at least it feels this way) who hasn’t tried the T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial! Also has the A-Passioni I mentioned above!

If you don’t want a slew of products, I recommend you at least try the Sunday Riley Power Couple for $72, this is what introduced me to Sunday Riley products and it’s a great value. Good Genes plus the Luna Sleeping Oil.

Perfect for Mother’s Day

Tell your mom I say hi!

Want to treat your mom or mother figure? These are my fave gift sets at Sephora right now.

Fresh Cleanse and Moisturize, $78 Not overwhelming, just the excellent Soy Face cleanser, along with an AM and PM moisturizer.

Fresh Black Tea Firming Skincare, $119 Another great set from Fresh, these products offer a more comprehensive skincare routine and feel luxurious.

Thanks for waiting while I got this post ready for you! Are you going to get any goodies to try? Let me know if you do! Tag me on Instagram, @triciaclarkemakeup I would love to see!

That’s all for now! Happy shopping 🙂

xo,

Tricia
