23 Apr My foundation makes my skin dry, what can I do?
Hi friends,
A pal of mine asked me today what she could do to avoid having her foundation make her skin look and feel dry. She admitted it was likely a skin care and/or skin prep issue, and I have to agree! If you are not using the right skin care, your makeup just won’t look good. It’s true!
How do I know?
I know becuase as a makeup artist in Chicago, I can tell you that a majority of the faces I touch have dehydrated skin. What’s the difference between dry and dehydrated, you ask? My fave skin care guru Caroline Hirons addresses this beautifully here .
Do I have DRY or DEHYDRATED skin?
To sum up, dry skin is a type, and dehydrated skin is a condition. Your skin is dehydrated if it lacks water (and that does not mean the water you drink orally). The good news is you can add water to your skin, making it look plumper and healthier. My favorite product to quench skin is hands-down Sonia Roselli’s Water Balm. I use it on almost everyone because it hydrates, plumps and smooths. It is the key part of my skin care routine and makes EVERYONE look better.
